Residential Waste

Royal Carting is a leader in residential waste disposal in Columbia, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam and Ulster counties.

We are committed to protecting our environment, conserving the resources we use and recycling waste. For some ecological tips on what you can do in your own home, roll over the planet circles.

Today, we must all work together to manage the ever-increasing stream of waste generated by our growing communities.

Insulation keeps your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Properly installed, insulation will lower your energy bills during the hottest and coldest days of the year.

The chimney is one of the most neglected parts of a residence. Your chimney needs regular care and cleaning to assure a safe and efficient fire.

You can reduce your energy bills by selecting energy-efficient windows and caulking and weather stripping around windows.

If you don't need to cool your entire home, use window A/C units to cool the rooms you use most. And, save energy by cleaning filters annually.

A leaky faucet can waste as much as 34 gallons of water per year. Repairing leaky faucets and showerheads will save your community's water resources.

Consider a laptop over a traditional desktop computer. They are not just more convenient but use less electricity.

Toilets use more water than anything else in your home. Toilets with the government's WaterSense label use 20% less than even federal standards.

You can reduce home lighting electricity usage by installing Energy-StarĀ® lighting products and using compact fluorescent bulbs.

A new refrigerator with an ENERGY STARĀ®-label is at least twenty percent more efficient than older conventional models sold prior to 2001.

Always be sure to turn the TV off when no one is watching. Plug TV and components into a power strip to easily turn all devices off at once.

Buy energy-efficient washer and dryer units. Make sure to clean the dryer's filter after every use. Front load washers are more energy-efficient.
